You may have noticed that my posts and online presence have shifted a little over the last few weeks. It might feel like a sudden change, but in reality, it’s been years in the making and I’m not going to explain what’s been going on behind the scenes.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve been on a bit of a journey — personally and professionally — and I’ve ended up somewhere I didn’t expect, but I’m embracing it 100%.
Recently. I’ve been talking more about brain differences — how not all brains work the same way and that’s because mine is one of the differently working brains. I’ve done a heck of a lot of research and learning including a new certification which I’ll be shouting about soon. Oh, and the learning about myself? Off the chart!
What it turns out is that I have an ADHD brain — and I had no idea.
The Discovery
I’d been chasing answers for a long time. The symptoms I was reporting didn’t feel connected, so I didn’t realise they could be part of the same picture. I knew very little about ADHD, and it quite honestly never crossed my mind. It was a suggestion from a therapist that turned into hours of research — and then a wave of relief when I realised I wasn’t alone. I wasn’t broken. I just work differently. And that’s OK.
There have been so many lightbulb moments, and moments of understanding of things like not everyone having a constant voice narrating the past, present and future all at the same time. Not everyone who forgets words, tasks or sentences half way through. My behaviours now had context and looking back, so many things now make sense — the struggles and the strengths.
What’s Changed
Nothing, but everything.
This knowledge hasn’t magically changed how my brain works — but it has changed how I feel about it.
Acceptance has replaced guilt and frustration. Instead of berating myself for, say, needing a mid-morning nap, I now think: “OK, I’m tired. I’ll take 15 minutes and then get back to it.”
I’m building strategies and tools that actually work for me — structure, time management techniques, discipline — but all centred around awareness and self-compassion. The Pomodoro technique has come into its own with it’s structure of focused works and breaks.
How it’s Shaping my Business
As a business owner, my personal and professional lives will never be wholly separate. I put so much of myself into my business, and it will come as no surprise that another light dawning for me was about the future of my business.
I want to support the “Me’s” of the world: business owners with so many ideas and so much potential, but who need help harnessing that and driving projects forward. I want to be there and support the ADHD entrepreneurs. That’s my niche. That doesn’t preclude other people, but providing OBM services with an ADHD-friendly delivery is my expertise and my passion.
My OBM services are fundamentally the same, but my delivery is now consciously ADHD-friendly. I understand the brain I’m working with — and I adapt my support accordingly. There are a variety of ADHD traits, and the combination will be unique for us all, therefore part of my onboarding with a new client will include getting to know their trait combo meaning that the way we work together is totally customised and unique. Whether it’s lack of focus, trouble starting, or struggling to finish, I can help you move forward in a way that works for you.
Why it Feels Sudden
Most of this discovery and processing happened behind closed doors. I wasn’t ready to share publicly until I’d had time to reflect, learn, and decide how it would shape my future and my business.
Now feels like the right time. I want you to know that you’re not alone. You don’t need a formal diagnosis — if these traits resonate, that’s what matters.
What’s Next
While most things will continue with a few minor tweaks, you will notice that my message is different. It will reflect my purpose to support ADHD entrepreneurs. You can still take advantage of my ongoing support with my retainer services. I only work with a limited number of clients at any time to ensure a high level of support; currently I have capacity to work with 1 more business owner – if you want that to be you, drop me a line.
I’m also developing a structured programme designed specifically for ADHD entrepreneurs.
It has three layers:
- Master your ADHD
- Strengthen your business foundation
- Achieve your goals and scale
Delivered in an ADHD-friendly, you’ll learn how to manage your ADHD traits and symptoms within your business, then move on to making sure you have a solid business foundation ready for sustainable growth and smashing your goals. It is designed to make sure that no one gets left behind or drops off. How many times have you signed up for something that you think sounds great, only to not end up finishing it? I’ve certainly done it too many times to want to remember, but finishing is where the magic happens, and I want to make sure you finish.
This isn’t about me saying “look at me and my ADHD.”
It’s about explaining the shift, talking directly to my audience, and letting you know: you’re not alone.
If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your story — whether you’re an ADHD entrepreneur yourself, support others with ADHD, or are simply curious about how different brains work.
We might be wired differently, but that difference can be a powerful advantage in business when we work with it, not against it.
